Dec. 5th, 2010 05:45 pmA few months back, a friend of mine lent me the first season of Stargate: SG-1. In that time, I have watched three episodes, the last of which was so fail-y I actually cried (while yelling at the screen). Imperialism and inaccuracy, hooray. -_-
So, my question: do I try to watch the rest, deconstructing as I go? Do I pop my friend's bubble of enjoyment by saying "this has too much fail, I can't stand it"? Or do I semi-lie and say I just don't have enough time to watch the rest of it?
The first one is probably a worthwhile pursuit, but I'm not sure I'm up to it. Thoughts?

Date: 2010-12-06 11:16 am (UTC)If you have reason to believe your friend would make your reaction to the show's fail all about themself, it might be wise to spare yourself and avoid the strain on your friendship by not bringing the show up, and not answering if they ask, beyond saying it wasn't your taste.
SG-1 isn't a very good show. Watching the best episodes, like alias_sqbr suggests, might be worth it if you already care for one or more of the characters because of fanfic, or if it's very important to be able to participate in fannish conversations with your friends.
