Can someone please start having an interesting discussion with me so I can concentrate on something other than how much it sucks to be on Day 3 of The Killer Cold From Hell?

Starter topics: why the Fire Nation's god has an Indian name, why shopping for food and cookware is so much more fun than shopping for clothes, little amazing things about Shoujo Kakumei Utena/your fandom or work of choice, what is the fandom you're kind of embarrassed to be in, what anime/movie/drama/manga I absolutely HAVE to read/watch right now.

Killer cold! Those are AWFUL.

Well, OK, I don't think you do western media fandom stuff, but I am very very embarrassed that I'm obsessed with Hawaii Five-O, which is a) terrible b) basically all about YAYZ POLICE TORTURE IS OSSUM (link is to excellent vid exploring this) c) REALLY REALLY TERRIBLE. But it's pretty and shiny and as slashy as humanly possible without actually being no-longer-slash-actually-canon-queerness. It's so weird.

There is also this awesome show called REVENGE, which is the crackiest thing I've ever watched? It's terrible and awesome.

Before I moved and started a new job and lost my access to the awesome Brooklyn library system, I was ten volumes in to FMA. It was amazing, and I need to finish it. Ooh, ooh, I'm going back to BK soon, I can order like ten volumes at once to be waiting for me at the library!

Yes yes yes, you should do exactly that! Because FMA is so incredibly good. By which I mean I can't think of a thing I dislike about it. Not one thing! Awesome plot, awesome humour, awesome characters, awesome art, awesome tone-of-writing. Everything is amazing and nothing hurts! Well, okay, yes things hurt but it is a GOOD hurt. There is nothing quite like the pain of getting metaphorically punched in the face by sheer fantasticness.

Do you read m/m? Do you like cracktastic AUs? If so, then get thee to AO3 and have fun with H5O. There was one where one of the guys WAS AN ACTUALFAX MERMAID. That was great. There is probably also gen about Kono, if you like ladies who have mad ninja skilz0rs. Also she surfs.

I don't know if there's a fandom for REVENNNNNNNGE yet (you have to say the title like that, it's just what it is), but there needs to be. It's just too great/terrible.

FMA is one of the best things I've ever read. I really appreciate the humor, especially--it's got so much depth, but at the same time there's a fundamentally goofy attitude at the base of it. Also, my toddler is in love with Al. He calls him THE ROBOT (in all caps), and wants me to read him the books.

I think you are probably sleeping (& hopefully sleeping off the cold somehow!) by now, darn time zones. But I continue to encourage people to watch Tumbling whenever possible. ;) Although given that it induced big-time crying jags (in me & in someone else in my circle who marathoned it recently) possibly not the greatest when you're already stuffed up from a cold. ^^;;

I actually woke up at two in the morning and read this comment not too long after you posted it! & yes, Tumbling sounds like great fun. With possible crying, but what has the world come to when I cannot sob at television shows?

And now I will go read your post about it again. :D
