I like it. I liked the touch where Barry was the white foster-child in a black family, which is a reverse of how it is usually portrayed. Nice touch. And Iris! That is going to be fun to watch.
The worldbuilding is a bit rough, we haven't had much focus on Barry's powers of their limits. Smoking clothing after the run to Starling City was as close as we got. There are some physics things I'm having to knowingly apply belief-suspenders to, but I'll get used to it once I have a better feel for how the show is handling that.
I like the lighter feel than Starling City. For one, most of it was shot during the day, which is a marked contrast to Arrow which is mostly at night. Barry seems like an optimist, which makes for a much easier hero to relate to than Mr. Dark and Moody Queen.
Star Labs guy, who I keep confusing for Rob Lowe, had a nice dun dun dun moment at the end, but I don't think the episode really needed that beat to be complete; which is why I think it's a season plot-point.
The season teaser with the newspaper from 2024, and the brief flash-like outline of "Mom's killer" we saw, kind of says we're in for some timey wimey stuff this season. I am dubious.
