I've started watching White Collar! Fewer ladies than I'd like, and a lot of them have exactly the same hairstyle so I can't tell from episode to episode if Villain Lady A later becomes Consultant Lady B. It's kinda white so far as well. On the other hand, one of the recurring ladies in the supporting cast is WENDY WATSON FROM THE MIDDLEMAN, which makes me ridiculously happy and gives me even more desire to write Middleman crossovers with all the things. Though it looks like she leaves after one or two seasons, sigh.

I think one of the other reasons I don't like it as much as Leverage is because it's less of an ensemble show and more of a show about Neal Caffrey and his problems. Neal Caffrey, you are a fairly interesting guy, but I wanna know more about the lady you live with and more about Elizabeth and more identity/backstory for Kate besides 'your girlfriend'. And Jones! I want Jones to get backstory and characterization and stuff. (Yeah, yeah, this is not Elementary and he is not Detective Bell, I know.)

...But my main problem with this show is that it's giving me sympathy and understanding for all those people who want to bang Matt Bomer.

Neal/Matt's ridiculous charm is a huge part of the show. To say nothing of the fedoras.
There are times when the show relies too much on said charm and the case suffers from it. That's why I dropped WC, because I want to see more of the other characters and the story isn't obliging enough. ^^
El should have her own show, btw.

She shoooouuuullld. Oh my god, I would love this show 500x more if it were about El and her catering business and her friendship with Mozzie and her wonderful husband and his dashing friend who are off solving crime and won't be back for dinner again.

I think one of the reasons s1 wasn't working for me is because Neal felt like such a flat character -- KateKateKate, charming, hats, more Kate!angst. I think he's starting to have more of a personality in s2, so we'll see where that goes. One of the flaws with basing your show so much around one character is that if he fails to catch someone's interest, there's just nothing else to hold it.

The woman who replaces Wendy Watson is amazing and wonderful, and I love her a lot (you probably know who she is, but the name might be a minor spoiler?). Jones also does get backstory, though you have to wait, like, three seasons for it. But, yes, the show will always be a little bit too focused on Neal and Neal's charm.

You're right, I LOVE HER. I might be able to stick it out for Jones backstory, too! (Neal should be more charming if he wants me to like him just for that.)
