Wow, Harry Potter fandom. I am actually astonished!

This fic* . . . well. If it were written by any of my r-list, I would be absolutely confident that the final chapter would feature Hermione waking up and complimenting Snape on his excellent Blatant Feminist Allegory Draught—"It was horrifically obvious what was going on after I woke up, but while I was under, everything seemed so plausible."

It is kind of amazing, actually. Because Hermione's love interest is clearly and obviously a personalization and embodiment of The Patriarchy (capital letters and all). I'm not kidding! Every thing he does is one of those problematic things that feminist blogs write posts about, and he warps the narrative around him. Hermione cries about his Dead Little Sister—not because she was raped and killed, but because Mr Love Interest Dude had to go through the trauma of having that happen to his sister! <-- Heavy-handed lampshading of Manpain, there. And Harry and Ron are probably the archetypal friends-who-don't-ask-questions-about-society. It all fits perfectly!

Unfortunately, I don't think the author is doing this intentionally. :| Half the fic is enough, I think, while I can still pretend my ending is the real one.

Oh my trainwreck. I flipped through a couple of chapters. Last few paragraphs on Chapter 11. AFK to claw my eyes out.

Since this is a WIP, I choose to believe in your offered solution. I'm sure that this is how the fic will end.

Epilogue

Hermione woke with a gasp.

"Miss Granger, what did you dream about?" Snape frowned and looked at her expectantly.

"It was horrifically obvious what was going on after I woke up, but while I was under, everything seemed so plausible. Congratulations, Professor, you have created a perfect Blatant Feminist Allegory Draught." Hermione replied with a smile. Already, she was compiling a list of people she could dose with it; Christmas would come early after all.

Trainwreck is probably the word, yes. Except for your lovely epilogue, of course; that is a positive masterpiece of DO WANT. :D

And I actually have some of those fics you recced open in other tabs right now! (By the way, my current favorite Draco/Hermione fic is this one, in which Narcissa and Lucius are hilariously terrible parents, side characters actually do things, and Draco thinks it's incredibly hot that Hermione's taking over the world. Erm, just in case you wanted more to read.)

The only reason it isn't on my rec list is because I decided to make another, eventually, just for the dmhgficexchange. XD

If you like Dial G for Granger, then I totally recommend Malfoys Always End Up On Top, which has a similar theme of Draco totally getting out-classed by Granger, to his utter surprise. :P
