So they fixed my computer (though I think there's other stuff wrong with it now, just b/c they had to set everything to chinese and now I have to set it all back to english and re-figure out how everything works, and also why my mouse isn't connecting) but everything on there is gone. Upwards of 500 gig, I think? Luckily the internet is forever, and when it comes to my own writing I am the #1 proponent of cloud storage, but that's still a hell of a lot of music/video/podcasts/etc. to re-find and re-download. Hell, when I switched computers the last time, even though I copied over almost everything, more than a year later I still sometimes found myself wanting to listen to a song and then not finding it on my computer.
Oh well. Like someone said to me a while ago, sometimes you lose things and they don't come back.
(also also btw if you're wondering why I'm not commenting on your posts it doesn't mean I don't like you it means I'm studying for the HSK and only reading my DW list on my phone between other things)

Date: 2013-03-18 02:30 pm (UTC)Of course, now I've gone and discovered that not only could they not recover my data, they ended up replacing my >500 gig hard drive with a 20 gig one without saying anything . . . well, even though I'm having some nasty and unfounded suspicions, I'll go talk to them tomorrow about it since there's nothing I can do after ten-thirty at night.
