[general stuff]
Shoujo Kakumei Utena:
When it comes to things like Utena, I tend to get really invested in theme and symbolism, &c, so I would love something that plays heavily on that, maybe even something set in the movie continuity. That said, I would *also* love something exploring Nanami's or Kozue's personality, or some happy Student Council hijinks.
I was always sad that most of the Student Council's time was spent dealing with personal crises and/or Akio messing around, because the few times we did get to see them hanging out and having fun were just wonderful. (If you have the opportunity to read the video game playthroughs (over at Empty Movement) they have EXTRA AMOUNTS of student council hijinks! Apparently, the only reason Touga gets to be president is because he's the oldest. >.>) Even the little "It looks like friendship saved the day!" line in the movie made me really happy.
Actually, I am a fan of hijinks in general. There are two ways I would really love for you to go with this request: super serious evocative thematic whatever, and RIDICULOUS HIJINKS FOR ALL, and either one would make me super happy.
Availability: It was re-released in both the US and Japan quite recently, so copies for purchase and/or download are easy to find.
The Middleman
I love everything about this show. Everything. It's all good. --that said, there are some things I love more than others: Wendy and the Middleman's bro-ness, Wendy and Lacey's friendship, Wendy bringing up art stuff in the middle of work (e.g. 'Not bad for a classical realist'). And, um. Wendy in general. Casefic would be lovely, but I always get blocked when somebody asks me for casefic, so feel free to do something outside of that scope. Maybe Barbra Thornfield MD, PhD, finally comes to visit?
You should also know that I love crossovers for this show! Even before I watched it, I read a crossover and loved it. Mostly because crossovers almost always include Wendy calling people out on their weird shit, which is something I positively adore. (I love how genre-savvy she is!)
Also, if you want to write A Day In The Life Of Ida, I would be totally on board with that.
Availability: It's pretty easy to find, I think, hardcopy or otherwise. And it's only twelve episodes long, plus or minus the scrip of the unaired thirteenth episode.
Gokusen (manga)
Yankumi and Shin's relationship is possibly my favorite in any thing ever. She is a dorky math teacher who is secretly badass! He looks like a badass teenager but is secretly a dork! Together, they engage in vaguely illegal shenanigans!
Lastly, I'm not familiar with any of the dramas, so if you could work off the manga I would be very much obliged.

The tale of a dorky badass yakuza math teacher and her cool-looking (but secretly dorky) brilliant student.
Basically it is the BEST THING EVER. And here is a picspam to prove just how awesome and hilarious and badass and feminist it is. Including much emphasis on the fact that, while Shin may be all cool and intelligent, he is in fact the non-badass love interest and will have to put up with getting kidnapped and being left out of the fights just like every other love interest in high-school-delinquent manga. (Quote from the picspam: "Sometimes, if there are other people around that she needs to hide her badassery from, she will graciously allow him to punch out a bad guy that she's already defeated.")
I'd love to see fic about Shin going to Tokyo University. How do his class- or dorm-mates deal with the occasional intrusion of his yakuza acquaintances into their peaceful, entirely-legal lives? (Or are they?) How does he deal with being away from his friends? Does Yankumi ever visit? What happens when everyone goes around calling him "Young Master Red Lion"? (A name I'm sure he still thinks is super uncool.) What's Yankumi's new class like?
Or crossovers! Crossovers would be AMAZING. And easy! Yankumi probably knows Kasanoda from Ouran High School Host Club, and Shin is probably related somehow to Yotsuba's dad. Gokusen is ridiculously easy to cross over with things -- Detective Conan, KHR, almost anything could work.
Availability: Here are all fifteen volumes. Warning: may cause inability to sleep until finished.
Samurai Champloo:
I love this show, and I love the ending, and I spend a lot of time desperately hoping that they met up again a few years afterwards and went adventuring again and everything kept on being happy and amazing and perfect. I just want them to run around having wacky period-inappropriate hijinks together for the rest of their lives.
I know some people ship Mugen/Fuu, or Mugen/Jin, or occasionally Jin/Fuu, but to be perfectly honest I can't imagine two of them in a relationship that didn't include the third. So, um, genfic or threesome, please?
If you'd rather write about just Fuu, that's fine too, of course. She's my favorite. But I really love the dynamic that the three of them have.
Also, I would like to add a ditto to everything innextian's Samurai Champloo request.
