Since I am still procrastinating on a) the Avatar fic of doom, b) the Saionji fic, and c) that KHR Cowboy Bebop AU, now is obviously the perfect time for a gender/sex-swap fic meme thingy!

Ask for one or two or three-ish characters -- prompts lovely but optional -- and get a little fic or meta on them suddenly gaining different bits, differing sex & gender at birth, or (one way or the other) trans!fic. (Mukuro, Doumeki, & Ouran's Haruhi being special cases, however, since I'm pretty sure they're gender-queer. Or at least gender-don't-give-a-fuck.)

Any fandoms I'm familiar with are fine!

And I'm definitely not doing this just because I suddenly had an urge to write Kaitou Kid & perhaps one of his detective friends gaining breasts and figuring out what to do about it. Not at all, mmkay?

Pretty please?

If not, Tamaki - "the little prince"?

This sounds ossum. And gender-don't-give-a-fuck certainly sounds like the right way to describe Mukuro and Haruhi. (I've never read XXX-Holic, so no comment on Doumeki.)

You know YGO, right? Then can I ask for genderswitch, Kaiba, "rags, tags, and velvet gowns".

And for KHR, Haru, born male, "an ardent orator".

I read about half the manga a long time ago and recently read some good fanfic. That counts as 'knowing', right? (Also, I'm assuming that by 'genderswitch' you meant 'trans'; if I'm wrong, consider this a bonus fic?)

Seto realized a long, long time ago that clothes matter. Ragged jeans and faded T-shirts might garner sideways looks on the commuters' train, but would make her just one more lazy teenager in the less-affluent residential areas. People smile at a girl in a sundress and sandals, even if she's a little tall and keeps trying to hide her throat.

Buckles and high collars and long coats and leather and boots and dragons all together read as CEO Kaiba Seto. Not crossdresser or Kaiba's son or even Kaiba's daughter. She's made sure of that, with PR campaigns and advertising and the best marketing money can buy. When people see her face, they think her name.

I spent like an hour trying to remember/figure out with Google if Kaiba wore a trenchcoat or a duster. Eventually I just gave up.

Haru; an ardent orator

Haru has always loved to talk, about anything, everything, nothing at all. People look at him weird sometimes for it and kind of don't want to stay close, which is kind of a pity but not enough of one for him to stop. (Then again, maybe it's the cosplay. There are a lot of girls who talk as much as he does, and everyone seems to like them fine.) His parents have an on-going joke about him becoming a politician when he's older -- at least Haru thinks it's a joke -- but Haru doesn't say things to convince people. He talks because he wants to, even if no one is really listening.

The only time he really regrets this is after he meets Tsuna. If ever there were someone he wanted to convince . . . but he never bothered learning how, so he just acts as though it's already decided. No one else seems to find the idea of Haru as a don's wife (husband, he supposes it would be) weird, not compared to baseball bats that turn into swords and magic rings that make you on fire, and Tsuna will come around eventually.

Now I realise that "genderswitch" is kind of like "AU vs. AR" in fandom, in that it can mean totally different things to different people. I meant the "suddenly wakes up with different sex" kind, but this was awesome so nevermind. :D

I love this image. It's so strange for Kaiba! The hint at any kind of emotional vulnerability showing, and that kind of clothing.

I love how it's obvious that Kaiba's fought and sacrificed and conquered. It's very like canon that she's consciously, determinedly chosen to be what she is, or at least how she wants to be seen, even if it subsumes what she really is.

I spent like an hour trying to remember/figure out with Google if Kaiba wore a trenchcoat or a duster. Eventually I just gave up.
Fortunately I don't have clue one about the difference between the two, so it's cool by me! Fashion, what is it? Can you eat it>

It's interesting how male Haru seems much more easy-going than the female version. I can see it. And I love that the Vongola just go "oh, okay, he wants to marry Tsuna".

I wonder if that's a thing in my genderswitch fics, that men are/can afford to be more easygoing than women? Hmm.

The Vongola are very accepting of people who aren't currently trying to kill them. :D

Apparently a duster is longer and was worn a lot in the early days of cars, when dust and grime would get all over your nice expensive clothes if you didn't cover them up, and trenchcoats came out of the military and have the trademark triangle-y collars. But after taking another look at Kaiba's outfit I still can't tell which he has, and it's sleeveless anyway so that probably disqualifies it for both.

I'm glad it worked for you! \o/

Heh! threesome of fabulous! This all seems right-on to me, though, hm, I can see a born female Roy being pretty adept with the heels and such when it was expedient.

Also, I would love to see her in the same room as Major General Armstrong!
