Yes! Which is profoundly weird to me, because even at eleven I would have fought tooth and nail to keep my glittery gel pens and computer games. Dean holds on to his football, but that's all we really see. (Except in next-gen fic, or fic about the younger students, who generally seem to be portrayed as less assimilationist? Or at least fonder of ballpoints and board games.)
