fic-promptly, ILU.

For those of you who (like me) are not subscribed to fic_promptly, or not watching it very closely, today is worldbuilding day! Prompts so far range from "how is Akari getting her letters to Ryouga?" to "what good is a Hogwarts education for people who choose to live as or among Muggles?" to "how do ordinary people deal with spirits when there isn't a handy Avatar to call on?" (Okay, that one was mine.) Whole bunch of KHR prompts, several FMA, and even a few Discworld ones out there. This is like the coolest day ever for awesome prompts/potential awesome fics, so if your fandoms have set any background details (or lack thereof) niggling at your head, now would be a good time to go have a look at fic_promptly.


I haven't written anything since mid-May. I've been thinking a lot about the longfics I'm plotting out, but I haven't actually written a thing. Since I've been thinking about it, I don't feel too bad, but it's bothering me. I know people for whom writing is their fun, easy free-time waster, who write thousands of words an hour. Why can't I be like that?

. . . because I'm just not, that's why. Oh well. D'you think it's a better idea to write big ideas as one big story, like most people seem to, or lots of little ones, white_knuckle-style?
