So I had my first ever panic attack today! Minor cosmetic surgery, nurses who can't find a god damn vein, continuous oozing blood from the site, etc etc. I really don't want to talk about it except to say a) that I have never wanted to avoid mirrors so much in my entire life, and b) this is also the first time I've spent an entire day watching netflix. I have finally seen both Ghostbusters and the Matrix.

Also my computer is broken, possibly permanently -- this is coming to you live from my tablet.

If you wish to express your sympathy for the above, please do so by talking about ENTIRELY DIFFERENT THINGS. Like your current favorite manga! Let's talk about that.

I haven't been reading much manga recently but have just started watching Love Live on Crunchyroll, a cute and femslashy anime about a group of girls forming an idol group to try and save their school.

Whaaaaat this sounds like it hits a lot of my buttons (in the good way, I mean). :D Thanks for mentioning it!

I haven't been reading manga lately either but I just started watching Noragami, which has the same voice actor as played Natsume in the lead role & is also dealing w/spirits & is perfectly creepy/funny/wacky so far (I'm only a couple of episodes in).

The [community profile] parallelsfic fandom-pushing post was sadly quiet this year, but there was one post with a whole host of cool-looking anime available on Crunchyroll or Hulu and femslashy manga.

I can say that Chaika: The Coffin Princess is as fun as advertised, and passes Bechdel regularly. There are weird bits that kind of look like "wasn't the terrible Empire just misunderstood", though I'm not done yet and may be being oversensitive, but I'm really enjoying the wide variety of motivations amongst the characters, and the way that antagonists are not necessarily villains.

Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushi | The World Is Still Beautiful (on crunchyroll) is also much fun, with actual recognition that rain is essential to life and a female protagonist who is trying to figure out how much social polish she needs to be an effective queen/king's fiancee and how much her own understanding of weather and agriculture is more important. Apparently it's also a manga.

Also! Wizard Barristers is a show where the heroes are defense attorneys (for magic-users accused of wrongdoing, in case that wasn't clear) and also more than half of them are women. It's exciting.

Er. Sorry, that was more anime than manga, but hopefully that's okay?

HELLO I am currently very confused as to how well I'm getting on with Korra s3 (I am ignoring episode 3 for the most part) and also on a chamomile tea kick.
