esmenetI've started watching Danny Phantom! It's a little bit plotless so far, but I'm finding it quite enjoyable. And there are a couple of characters who make me want to roll around in all my monster/transhumanism feels, which is apparently the fastest way to get me into something.
I'm up to episode 23, but unfortunately I can't watch any more for a while because my computer is down for the count and I'm restricted to mobile blogging for the next while. :(
A lot of Danny Phantom fanworks make me :( because ... well, I really like canon!Danny so far! He's just a kid with superpowers who's trying to be a hero while also being, y'know, a teenager. So I don't feel like he needs to get Dark And Gritty or anything. I mean, I really love transhumanism/monster-ness, and I'd love to see more exploration of the fact that Danny is /not human anymore/, and I quite enjoy the idea that the Fentons and Valerie aren't exactly wrong about ghosts -- but there's a big difference between 'creepy' and 'the kind of dark-and-edgy that makes me want a long cleansing shower'. And Danny Phantom is a show /built/ for fun and creepy. Not so much the other thing.
(Also I ship Valerie/Danny hardcore. Superheroes in love!)
