Today has been terrible so far. :( It doesn't even have the justice to be the "bad things happening" kind of terrible! I just don't have the drive to do anything even though I need and want to do lots of interesting and useful things and I keep crying for no reason and how am I doing nothing at all and still doing it wrong.
. . . I think I'm interrogating the text of my life from the wrong perspective. >.<
But anyway, one of the things I attempted (and failed, because as always I start off by approaching a fic from the wrong direction and spending a couple days there if not more) to do today was write an epic KHR/Cowboy Bebop crossover. It would be so easy, y'all! Just take out the ridiculous weapons and replace them with money and guns. Or do what I want to do, and turn the Vongola into a GIANT CASINO. :D Mukuro is a dealer who's really creepy but also really slick about it, and Chrome is the nice friendly dealer across the room people go to when they can't deal with crazy bastards. (Many people also suspect her of being Mukuro's sister, including Yamamoto.) Kyoko and Haru run the bar. (They like to spend their breaks finding random people and playing Mao with them. The version where you don't tell new players the rules, of course.) Yamamoto is actually high-level management but enjoys pretending to be a waiter and borrowing the kitchen for sushi-making purposes. Gokudera is head accountant, and a lot of the lower-level staff are absolutely terrified because they think he (gasp) might be a mafia boss.
The Varia are Security.
The Simon have a small casino of their own a few hours' travel away, but they like to come over and hang out sometimes. Backstabbing is an infrequent occurence.
I'm not quite sure how the whole Dying Will Flame works into this, but wouldn't it be cool? And I'm sure you could fit a lot of other canons in using Cowboy Bebop as a base, too. Gokusen, Samurai Champloo (after a fashion), Detective Conan, xxxHOLiC . . . giant mega-crossover time!
